The S.I.Tech 2853 is a coax to fiber optic modem designed for Arcnet networking at 2.5 Mbps, converting signals between 93 ohm coaxial BNC connectors and dual ST fiber optic connectors. It supports transmission distances up to 6600 feet (2.0 km) using 50, 62.5, or 100 micron multimode fiber, with a 5 km option available via single-mode 1300 nm fiber. The transmitter output power is 30 microwatts, and the receiver sensitivity is 3 microwatts at 820 nm. Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 50°C. The unit is housed in a metal enclosure measuring 7.5″ × 7″ × 3″ (19 × 17.8 × 7.6 cm) and draws power from 110 VAC, 50/60 Hz. It meets FCC Class A, Part 15 requirements and is UL and CSA listed.
