The Model 2106 is an optical asynchronous mini bit-driver designed for point-to-point RS-422 or 4-wire RS-485 communication at 50 to 115.2 Kbps in simplex or full-duplex mode. It features ST connector receptacles for fiber optic interface with a maximum transmission distance of 6600 ft (2 km) using 50, 62.5, or 100 micron core fiber, and includes a 9-pin female D-sub connector for data signals. The device operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C, is housed in a metal enclosure measuring 1.75 x 3 x 0.625 in (4.5 x 7.5 x 1.6 cm), and supports panel or DIN rail mounting. It meets FCC Class A, Part 15 requirements for computing devices and requires an external power supply.
