QuinStar Technology, Inc. Cryogenic Circulator QCY Series

Description
QuinStar Technology’s QCY series Cryogenic Circulators and QCI series Cryogenic Isolators are custom-designed field-displacement devices with exceptional broadband performance. These are often used in conjunction with QuinStar’s series QCA Cryogenic Amplifiers and Systems. These products have internal magnetic shielding. However, an external magnetic shield is optionally available to augment the standard internal shielding to preserve the electrical characteristics while operating in a stronger magnetic field. When connected with cryogenic amplifiers, the DC bias to the amplifier may be provided using the termination of the isolator. Consult QuinStar if planning to use this option. Typical applications for these devices include radio astronomy, satellite earth stations, radiometers and electron spin resonance measurement systems. • Broad Bandwidth • High Isolation, Low Insertion Loss • Low VSWR • Magnetic Shielding available

The QCY Series Cryogenic Circulators from QuinStar Technology, Inc. are designed for high-performance applications in the frequency range of 4 GHz to 40 GHz, with specific models covering various bandwidths. These circulators exhibit a minimum isolation of 14 to 18 dB and a maximum insertion loss ranging from 0.4 to 1.2 dB, depending on the frequency band. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is maintained at a maximum of 1.28 to 1.38 across the specified frequency ranges. The devices feature coaxial (SMA) connectors for the lower frequency bands and waveguide connectors (WR-42 and WR-28) for the higher frequency bands. They are tested at a temperature of 77 K, and performance may improve over narrower bandwidths. The QCY Series is suitable for applications such as radio astronomy, satellite earth stations, and electron spin resonance measurement systems. An optional external magnetic shield is available to enhance the internal magnetic shielding, preserving electrical characteristics in stronger magnetic fields.
