The TRS switch operates on the reed switch principle. Thermal reed switches are used for both temperature monitoring and control. They are characterised by their long service life and operational reliability. A particular advantage is their excellent repeatability, as thermal reed switches are practically insensitive to the service environment. In contrast to bi-metal thermostats, for example, the switch-point is not affected by load current. For ease of installation, the TRS is supplied in a pipe tee in brass or stainless steel, from 1/4†to 1-1/2†line sizes. The contact has a normally closed (N/C) switching function and is available in one of 14 discrete setpoints ranging from 10°C (50°F) to 120°C (248°F).
