The SN74221 is a dual monostable multivibrator featuring Schmitt-trigger inputs, designed for reliable operation in various applications. It offers negative-transition-triggered and positive-transition-triggered inputs, which can also serve as inhibit inputs. The device provides excellent noise immunity, with a typical threshold of 1.2 V and VCC noise immunity of 1.5 V, thanks to its internal latching circuitry. Output pulse lengths can be adjusted from 35 ns to a maximum determined by external timing components, with a typical output pulse of 30 ns achievable using Rext = 2 k,Ѷ and Cext = 0. The device maintains pulse-width stability across a wide range of temperatures and supply voltages, making it suitable for diverse environments. The SN74221 is compatible with other Texas Instruments products, allowing for easy substitution in existing designs. It operates within a temperature range of 0¬8C to 70¬8C and is available in a 16-pin PDIP package.
