PCE-3500 is a portable durometer or hardness tester that uses the ASTM A1038 ultrasonic contact impedance (UCI) method to measure the hardness of metals and alloys with a minimum thickness of 1 mm.
This UCI hardness tester is the ideal tool for weld inspection and hardness measurement of induction or carburized machined parts, e.g., camshafts, turbines and heat-affected zones (HAZ). It is also useful for performing hardness measurements on turbine blades and in grooves, gear tooth flanks, roots and tubes with a diameter greater than 90 mm.
