The F-DF1000 Singlemode Neodymium Doped Fiber is the ideal fiber for an introduction to fiber laser technology. It offers a very low lasing threshold with output wavelength depending on configuration but typically in the region of 1080 nm to 1100 nm. Low-cost 780 nm to 820 nm laser diodes can be used as the pump source to build a fiber laser.
This bare fiber does not include a protective fiber jacket. Standard pricing is per meter. The following volume discount schedule is applied when ordering continuous lengths of optical fiber: 10 - 49 m: 15%, 50 - 99 m: 22%, 100 - 499 m: 25%, and ≥ 500 m: 28%.
Established Doped Fiber for Fiber Lasers
Neodymium doped fiber was one of the very first rare-earth doped single-mode fibers produced by the ground-breaking work of the Southampton University Optical Fiber Group in the 1980s. Fibercore’s F-DF1000 is the ideal introduction to fiber laser technology, with Neodymium doped fiber offering a very low lasing threshold, even when pumped with low-cost ‘compact disk’ type laser diodes.
Tunable Emission
Output emission may be length-tuned in the region of 1080nm to 1100nm.
