For Low Temperature Pumping Viscosity of Engine Oils
The automated CMRV-5000 is a compact and completely self-contained mini-rotary viscometer for measuring low temperature pumping viscosity from –5 °C to –40 °C. It has 5 removable test cells and integrated thermoelectric air-cooling.
Common Applications
Drive line lubricants
New engine oils
Used automotive oils
Reliable and accurate results
Meets requirements of ASTM D4684, ASTM D3829, ASTM D6821* and ASTM D6896
Meets latest SAE J300 specifications for low-temperature pumpability
Reliable and accurate temperature control from –5 °C to –40 °C
Dry gas purge regulator maintains a frost-free environment throughout the precise, microprocessor-contr
olled cooling cycle
Compact, efficient design
Completely self-contained benchtop unit for measuring yield stress and viscosity for drive line lubricants and engine oils
Thermoelectrically air-cooled unit requires no external refrigeration or heat exchangers and eliminates the need for potentially hazardous refrigerants
Solid-state thermoelectric cooling removes temperature gradients to provide significantly enhanced precision and superb temperature uniformity for all five test cells
High performance rotors with carbon fiber shafts minimize heat transfer in and out of test cells
Five removable test cells allow for easy cleaning and sample handling
Fully automated testing
VISCPRO® software contains pre-configured methods for each SAE-specified oil grade and referenced ASTM methods
Viscosity and yield stress are automatically calculated and saved
Versatility
Software allows custom cooling profile configuration
Optional multi-unit interface kit permits control of up to four units from a single PC
