Thermal Wire and Cable's Instrumentation and control 1000F multi-conductor instrumentation/cont
rol cables are designed for use for a wide variety of applications which include: electro thermal and electromechanical installations and in industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, nuclear, aeronautics, railway and shipbuilding, plastics processing etc
These cables begin with 27% Nickel-Coated, oxygen-free, high conductivity electrolytic soft-drawn pure copper conductors which is standard. Grade A (Pure Nickel 200) or high-strength copper alloy etc also available upon request.
These high performance conductors are then insulated with a glass reinforced premium grade mica tape scrim dielectric system built to UL/CSA specifications. The mica tape is augmented with an overall glass braid impregnated with a heat and moisture resisting finish. The glass braid is treated with a special saturant, which promotes fiber bonding, which ultimately reduces fraying, and itching associated with other conventional high temperature wires.
The standard color coding is the base wire color to be tan with a contrasting stripe braided-in the jacket. This method has high color retention at elevated temperatures. Another option if your job schedule does not permit standard lead times, is to have an ink stripe applied to the insulated lead wire which will also provide circuit identification but only has color retention to 200C.
Thermal Wire and Cable Corp has these insulated cables cabled together (twisted to form a round core). Twisted pairs and shielded pairs optional. The twisted core then has a braided fibrous glass jacket applied overall as a first line of defense against abrasion.
Stainless steel overbraids, or stainless steel interlocked armor available for additional mechanical protection. UL indicates the Intended use for these cables is wiring of ovens or similar high-temperature equipment where not subjected to repeated flexing and protected from mechanical abuse and where the acceptability, including current-carrying capacity has been determined by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
These cables lack the fused and Sintered PTFE moisture/vapor barrier binder, additional mica tape binder insulation and overall fully pigmented fiber braids of Thermal Wire and Cable Thermaflame product group in an effort to provide a cost effective, alternate to that product and has basically the same maximum continuous rating.
Available to 500 MCM 4 conductor to 26AWG 50 conductor. Finished Diameters are nominal and are unarmored. Nickel-Plated copper braid shields available for pairs, triads etc. Please inquire.
300 Volt also available. Standard jacket color is tan. UL Recognized Per Style for 600V 450C applications per UL Subject 758. CSA Certified Appliance and
