Thermal Wire and Cable LLC 250-3C14SR

Description
Thermal Wire and Cable's Type Sil-V insulated cables offer a wide service temperature range of -65C to +250C. Silicone rubber compounds have much greater resistance to high temperatures and are available and presently being used in applications of an extremely severe nature. When heated beyond the maximum serviceable temperature rating or if burned, Sil-V silicone rubbers leaves a non-conductive silicone dioxide ash which is an excellent dielectric operation of the cable for an indefinite period if left undisturbed. This flame resistance is greatly enhanced if the primary wires and jacket are augmented with a treated glass braid. The cost per 1000 ft is less than Flouropolymer insulated cables. Thermal Wire and Cable's Sil-V insulated cables are resistant to chemicals and a table is available to determine useful life in oils, bases, hydraulic fluids and solvents. Thermal Wire and Cable's Sil-V insulated cables produces very little smoke when burned. If a reduced cable diameter is preferred, consider PFA Teflon as primary insulation as 2/3 less insulation is required for 600V in Teflon. As a primary insulation, Sil-V silicone rubber couples superior dielectric properties, is abrasion resistant (when augmented with a glass or K-fiber braid on singles and jacket), is fire resistant, resistant to weathering, fungus and has excellent electrical characteristics. Its flexible nature provides for easy, economical installations and long service life in extreme flexing applications). Fully pigmented jacket is available in iron oxide red and can have an optional stainless steel braid or interlocked armor for greater abrasion resistance. The Sil-V dielectric insulation can have an optional "skin of fluoropolymer" extruded over the silicone compound to reduce the coefficient of friction and provide pigmenting for circuit identification. Thermal Wire and Cable Sil-V silicone rubber is very resistant to extremely low temperatures. The brittle point of the compound used is typically below -150F. AWG sizes available from 24-8 AWG. Conductor counts to 100. Shielding optional. The typical number of strands are of a Class K. Other stranding combinations available and must be requested. Class L or M are highly recommended but require typically larger minimum order quantities and long lead times. Nickel-plated copper only.
