Teledyne Controls enhanced Airborne Data Loader eADL

Description
Teledyne Controls’ enhanced Airborne Data Loader (eADL) greatly simplifies the distribution, onboard storage and management of loadable software applications and databases across an airline’s operation, by facilitating data transfer between ground-based computers and onboard avionics systems. Streamlined Distribution With the eADL, operators can reduce data loading time and streamline processes by eliminating the need to reproduce, distribute and load countless floppy disks every month. In a single action, data can be reliably uploaded to the eADL with a single USB memory stick, alleviating repetitive manual methods. The distribution process can be automated even further when the eADL is connected via Ethernet to a high-speed wireless system – such as the new Cellular, WiFi® or Broadband solutions now available. This configuration allows software parts to be wirelessly transmitted from ground systems directly to the eADL. Convenient Onboard Data Storage Another benefit of Teledyne’s eADL is its significant internal mass memory, which provides ample storage space to retain past, current and next versions of airborne software applications and databases onboard the aircraft. Retaining software onboard relieves searching for a portable data loader or the latest software disks during line operations. Now the entire contents of the aircraft’s software binder, or data vault, can be carried and stored electronically on every aircraft, facilitating LRU replacements and reloading, at any location. Superior User Experience Selecting desired software parts, initiating loads, and monitoring the load progress is really easy with the eADL’s user interface, which features a 3.5 inch color LCD display, 4 backlit line-select keys and 3 status indicators. End-systems that currently require multi-disk loads can now be loaded in one single action, eliminating time-out issues. Easy Installation The eADL is a plug-and-play drop-in replacement for existing ARINC 615-3 onboard data loaders, and requires no modification to the existing aircraft provisions.
