The XP-7R Expansion Chassis provides an economical means to add seven PCI slots using one host system slot. This I/O expansion solution can substantially increase the I/O capacity of any PCI 2.1 compliant system supporting the PCI Bridge Architecture Specification 1.0. Many computer manufacturers have reduced the number of expansion slots to keep costs competitive. However, the limited expansion capability is often insufficient to meet the needs of users in applications requiring specialized add-on processors. The XP-7R addresses this need in a cost-effective manner. Adds seven PCI expansion slots to any PCI 2.1 compliant system (120/240 VAC) Available in rackmount configuration Board set available for OEM and system integration applications Supports both half- and full-length form factor PCI cards, allowing half-length only platforms to accommodate full-length PCI cards Provides low-latency, high-throughput path to 32-bit PCI slots Supports PCI cards with a maximum clock frequency of 33 MHz Supports +5 VDC and universal signaling environments Utilizes Intel 21150 PCI-to-PCI bridge chip Conforms to international emission and immunity standards Operates without additional software
