Features
Provides proper impedance match and Termination Voltage for 3.3 V PECL logic circuits
Operates from DC to 8 GHz
Built-in Voltage regulator Applications
Testing High Speed PECL Logic Circuits The Picosecond Advantage: Signals from PECL logic ICs are specified to be terminated into 50 Ohm returned to VTT=+1.3 V. Most test instrumentation, including digital sampling oscilloscopes have input impedances of 50 Ohm returned to ground, making it difficult to measure PECL signals. Our Model 5622 PECL Terminator solves this problem.Description: Our Model 5622 PECL terminator is a DC biased 50 Ohm attenuator that provides the proper 50 Ohm output impedance returned to VTT and delivers an attenuated and level shifted output signal to 50 Ohm ground-based instrumentation. The output levels are safe to apply directly to sampling oscilloscopes. This PECL terminator has a flat frequency response up to 8 GHz and a risetime of 25 ps. It is ideal for testing 3.3 V PECL logic circuits up to 4 Gb/s. The Model 5622 contains an internal voltage regulator to provide the correct VTT. This requires an external DC biasing voltage. Note: For 5V PECL, use Model 5623 with a DC Biasing voltage of 3.66 V.
