One Systems' Portable Outdoor Powered System (POPS) was designed to fulfill a unique need in the professional audio marketplace for a high-output powered sound system that can be used outdoors in any weather condition. POPSSub was designed to augment the bass performance of the POPS15. POPSSub is an 18-inch subwoofer system that includes an onboard high-powered, digital amplifier that is precisely-matched to its driver. POPSSub's transducer, electronics and enclosure were developed for use in direct sun, rain, snow and other inclement weather applications. Its highly-mobile design makes ideal for portable applications indoors and outdoors. POPSSub's low-frequency transducer is an 18 inch (457 mm) low-frequency radiator coupled with a very large 4-inch (101 mm) diameter voice coil. This extremely large voice coil diameter provides superb reliability and high power handling while minimizing power compression effects. The woofer's ferrite magnet was optimized using Finite Element Modeling techniques to insure maximum efficiency and bandwidth. POPSSub's enclosure is constructed of 18 mm (.75 inch) marine-grade birch plywood that is coated inside and out with a rugged polyurea finish and then covered with a gray-colored paint designed for use in harsh weather conditions and in direct sunlight. The light color and reflective paint finish minimizes solar-induced heat build-up to prevent the amplifier from output limiting or shutdown when used in high ambient temperatures or direct sunlight. POPSSub's enclosure has been designed to IEC 529 / IP 56 ingress protection standards and its transducer is designed to meet all weather/water proof requirements. The amplifier is precisely-matched to the woofer. When POPSSub is used with POPS15, the input signal is routed to the full-range system where it is digitally-filtered for routing to the subwoofer to deliver optimum performance. POPSSub is equipped with an integrated threaded loudspeaker stand adaptor and it also includes a threaded loudspeaker mounting pole that features a crank-up elevation mechanism that allows POPS15 to be easily elevated. It is also equipped with 4 x heavy-duty, 6-inch diameter pneumatic wheels (2 of them are lockable) to make moving easy. POPSSub also includes custom 30.5 m / 100 ft-long AC Mains cable and an IP 67-rated XLR signal cable with moisture-resistant connectors.
