The MCP1403 is a dual-inverting, 4.5A high-speed MOSFET driver designed to charge and discharge capacitive loads up to 2200pF in 15ns (typical) with a 40ns propagation delay. It operates from a 4.5V to 18V single supply and features TTL/CMOS-compatible inputs with hysteresis for noise immunity. The device is available in 8-pin SOIC, PDIP, and 6x5mm DFN packages and is rated for operation from -40°C to +125°C. It includes latch-up protection against 1.5A reverse current and is capable of sourcing and sinking 4.5A peak current. The DFN package offers enhanced thermal performance with a thermal resistance of 33.2°C/W on a four-layer board.
The MCP1403/4/5 devices are a family of 4.5A,dual output buffers/MOSFET drivers. As MOSFET drivers, the MCP1403/4/5 can easily charge 2200 pF gate capacitance in under 28 nsec (max).The inputs are TTL/CMOS compatible and provide 300 mV of hysteresis between the high and low input levels that allows it to be driven from slow rising and falling signals and provide noise immunity.
