Nuts N' Bolts 227 is a single-component, high-strength anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine-threaded nuts, bolts, and studs. It is a red liquid with a viscosity of 10-25 cP at 25°C and a specific gravity of 1.06. Cured adhesive operates from -55°C to 150°C and fills gaps up to 0.004 inch. Breakaway torque exceeds 5.6 N·m (50 in-lb) after 6 hours and reaches 11.3 to 28.2 N·m (100-250 in-lb) after 24 hours on 3/8 x 24 Grade 2 steel fasteners. It meets MIL-S-22473E (Grade A) and ASTM D5363 standards. The product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen, chlorine, or on thermoplastic materials. Storage is recommended between 7°C and 29°C. It is dispensed via manual or automated equipment and removed with heat, mechanical abrasion, or Hernon Cleaning Solvent 62.
