The Type 401C is a low-ESR aluminum electrolytic capacitor designed for high-ripple current applications in military and industrial environments, with a wide operating temperature range from -55 °C to +105 °C. It features Thermal-Pak™ extended cathode construction for improved heat dissipation. This variant has a capacitance of 220 µF with a tolerance of ±20%, a rated voltage of 16 Vdc, and is in case code B0 with straight PVC leads. Dimensions for case code B conform to a diameter of 50.80 mm and a maximum length of 57.15 mm. Ripple current capability reaches over 50 amps at 55 °C, with an ESR as low as 3.5 mΩ. Capacitance retention exceeds 90% at -40 °C. The capacitor meets EIA IS-749 life testing requirements with 2,000 hours at 85 °C and 4,000 hours at 105 °C under rated voltage.
