HS-714 is a medical-grade, cross-linked acrylated olefin heat-shrink tubing for insulating electro-surgical instruments and temporary implantation device jacketing. It has a 2:1 shrink ratio, recommended shrink temperature of 121°C, and operates from -20°C to 121°C. Expanded ID sizes range from 0.093 in to 0.500 in with recovered wall thicknesses of 0.020 in or 0.025 in. It is supplied spooled with ±5% longitudinal change and a 3-year shelf life when stored below 27°C. Certified to USP Class VI, ISO 10993-5, and FDA CFR 177.1330, it is RoHS compliant and resistant to autoclave, e-beam, gamma, and EtO sterilization. It has tensile strength of 3200 psi, 500% elongation, Shore D durometer of 53, dielectric strength of 1800 v/mil, and passes VW-1 flammability. Electrical properties remain unchanged after 20 autoclave cycles at 121°C and 15 psig.
The preferred choice of leading medical device manufacturers worldwide for over 20 years for insulating electro-surgical instruments and for biocompatible jacketing for temporary implantation devices.
