The STMax flanged ball valve line takes the SoftTouch valve technology a step farther. Available in 2 and 3-Way configurations in sizes 2-1/2" to 6", these valves are ideal for air handling units, chilled water bypass, cooling tower control, and any other control valve application that requires high rangeability. Bray’s SoftTouch Max achieves equal percentage flow with the parabolic shape of the characterized insert. The characterized insert also allows us to offer a wide range of Cv choices.
These larger STMax models also retain the same low-torque requirements that the smaller SoftTouch Ball Valves incorporate. A 6" STMax can be used with a single commercial grade actuator for spring return applications. The minimum close-off, with the configurations we recommend, is 70 PSI. The lower torque means smaller actuators can be used, lowering the cost and the complexity of the assembly.
The 3-Way STMax incorporates a unique new ball design that not only has a characterized insert in the A and AB ports, but also in the B, or bypass, port. This design gives linear bypass flow.
