The M3452 series consists of heavy-duty braking transistors designed to prevent overvoltage faults in AC drives by shunting excess DC bus energy through a braking resistor, enabling controlled motor braking and reducing stopping time. The unit supports input voltages from 230 to 690 VAC and braking currents up to 1600 A, with discrete hardwired control and networking options including EtherNet/IP and PROFIBUS DP. It measures 20.00" x 10.00" x 10.50" for the 1200 A variant and is UL and CUL listed. The M3452-D1200CK10-R7 variant is configured for 24 VDC control voltage with R7 options and operates at 575 VAC with a braking resistance of 0.78 Ω, capable of 600 A RMS and 1200 A peak current.
Bonitron Braking Transistors are used with AC drives to allow full power braking and eliminate overvoltage faults. This permits controlled braking and dramatically shortens motor stopping time. The M3452 works with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) to monit
