The BM-TSM is a mercury-free tilt switch for high-level detection of bulk solids in bins, tanks, and silos, activating at a 15-degree tilt. It features a cast aluminum housing, a pivoting shaft with a single moving part, and an internal microswitch triggered by a steel ball or paddle. It supports bulk solids with a minimum density of 15 lbs./cu.ft. and is approved for C/US Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G and ATEX Zone 21 hazardous locations. The unit measures 9 inches in length, has a 4-inch diameter roll pin, and a 7/8-inch eye bolt hole. Switch ratings are 15 A at 125 or 250 VAC and 1/2 A at 125 VDC or 1/4 A at 250 VDC. It weighs 3.75 lb. and requires external wire rope, chain, or cable for suspension, which is not included.

It features C/US Class II, Division I Groups E, F and G and ATEX Zone 21 hazardous location approvals. It mounts on top of the vessel and is outfitted with a custom-made shaft in lengths from one foot up to eight feet in length, dependent upon the distance from the top of the bin an alert should be activated. The BM-TSM is available with either a paddle or sphere mounted at the end of the shaft and can be used in materials with a bulk density of at least 15 pounds per cubic foot.
