Designers are often unaware of the use and availability of potentiometer elements and sectors. When weight, space, mechanical packaging, torque or similar limitations prevent the use of complete components, sectors with custom mating wiper assemblies are available. When properly assembled and adjusted, these assemblies offer the designer the same reliability and performance of a standard potentiometer, often at a considerable cost savings.
