S.I. Tech, Inc. Master/Slave Mini Bit-Driver® Pair 2129

The Model 2129 is a master/slave mini bit-driver pair designed for RS-485 to RS-232 conversion in IBM RS/6000 systems, supporting point-to-point links up to 2.5 km over fiber optic cable with a 7129 cable set. It operates synchronously at 1.2 Mbps using a DB-9F interface and meets FCC Class A, Part 15 requirements. The device is housed in a metal enclosure measuring 4.5 x 2.2 x 1.0 inches (11.5 x 5.7 x 2.5 cm), weighs 0.28 lb, and operates from 0°C to 50°C. Power is provided externally via a 12 V DC supply. Fiber optic transmission uses a standard ST connector with a 62.5 micron core, delivering 10 microwatts of optical power at 850 nm and receiving down to 500 nanowatts at a bit error rate under 10^-9. Panel or DIN rail mounting options are available.
