The PCE-T 238 is a handheld tachometer combining contact and non-contact optical measurement capabilities, with a laser source operating at 645 nm and output below 1 mW, classified as Class 2. It measures from 0.5 to 100,000 RPM with 0.1 RPM resolution below 1000 RPM and 0.1% accuracy using a quartz crystal time base. The device features memory recall for last, maximum, and minimum values, an RS-232 serial interface configured at 9600 baud with 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit, and operates on four AAA batteries.
