Newport MKS Fiber-Optic Detector, 500-890 nm Battery Biased GaAs Detector, 12.5 GHz, FC/UPC 818-BB-45F

Description
The 818-BB-45F High Speed Battery Biased Fiber-Optic Detector features a 1 meter long FC connectorized singlemode fiber coupled to a 500 to 890 nm GaAs high speed photodetector with a <30 ps rise time. It includes a built-in bias supply consisting of one standard 3 V lithium cell (3V total bias) and a 50 ohm BNC connector output. The photodetectors have an internal 50 Ω termination. As the responsivity data is applicable to the diode only, the detector output should be determined based on 1/2 the responsivity of that shown on graph. This cost effective diagnostic tool is suitable for a variety of high speed applications such as viewing of Q-switched, mode-locked, or rapidly modulated laser signals and picosecond laser alignment. It is a low-cost solution for ultra-fast measurements up to a 12.5 GHz bandwidth. These detectors are suitable for applications where detector rise times of <30 psec are required for Q-switched and Ultrafast Laser output analysis. The batteries are easily replaceable, and by disconnecting the detector from the oscilloscope input, when not in use, you can extend the lifetime of the batteries. It is equivalent to Coherent's Model ET-4000F (P/N 120-10081-0001). Battery Biased GaAs Fiber-Optic Detector The 818-BB-45F features a high speed 0.04 mm diameter battery biased GaAs photodetector with a wavelength range of 400 to 900 nm. The detector is coupled to a 1 meter singlemode SMF 28e fiber with a FC/UPC connector. Measure Pulsewidth or Frequency Response These high speed detectors make a great fiber-optic front end for a scope or spectrum analyzer. When terminated into 50Ω into an oscilloscope, the pulse width of a laser can be measured. When terminated into a spectrum analyzer, the frequency response of a laser can be measured. Optical Post Mounting An 8-32 threaded hole at the bottom of 818-BB biased photoreceivers allows for optical post mounting. Handle With ESD Care These detectors are very susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Please use ESD protective measures, like the , when unpacking and handling these devices.
