The Lab Saw (or Metallurgical Saw), which is part of the Savage Saw product line, is Thermatool’s solution for companies looking to cut lab samples within a production environment, or with large or irregular work pieces. This Series will precision cut up to an 8′ (200mm) high by 24′ (600mm) lg work piece, with the saw cut having a machine like finish with no structural damage to the surface, and do all this in less than 5 minutes for the largest piece. Which is at least 10 times faster than the lab saw available today. These machines are typically used for cutting automotive parts for hardness testing or for reducing large cross sections from processed metals for metallurgical analysis. With Thermatool’s robust designs these saws are able to handle any kind of workload possible, minimizing downtime for maintenance and maximizing productivity. Thermatool has taken their customer’s needs and comments into account and improved upon this series with what we have learned. The updated controls with touch screen input are very easy to operate, only requiring the operator to enter material height, cut length and then start the cycle allowing for ‘Operator Free’ cutting. Coolant and air filtrations options are offered as well, along with specialty clamp jig design and universal clamping as well. Other specialty lab saws are also available for customers with even larger part sizes or requirements.
