The UL5-3.5G-980 is a 980 nm infrared laser diode module with an optical output power of 3.5 mW, designed for applications requiring stable, low-noise laser emission such as alignment and measurement. It features an adjustable elliptical focus spot as small as 100 μm at distances under 10 inches and operates in continuous mode with single mode laser structure and less than 1% power stability when mounted with a heat sink. The module is housed in an anodized aluminum casing measuring 10.5 mm in diameter by 26 mm in length, operates on 3 to 5 V DC with less than 50 mA current draw, and includes reverse polarity and ESD protection. It is classified as Class IIIB and requires thermal management to prevent damage. Operating temperature range is +10°C to +50°C.
