Sodium hypochlorite is inherently an unstable compound. Two things can happen to it in a piping system that will affect the choice of a valve. Sodium hypochlorite can decompose over time, which results in the formation of crystalline salts, and as it decomposes, one of the decomposition by-products is oxygen gas. The Z-Ball valve effectively vents the gases while keeping inner valve surfaces constantly wetted, ensuring problem free use. Effectively eliminates the conditions required for gas accumulate and salt crystallizations. Readily identifiable by the black handle and special label identifying the direction of liquid flow. The hold is always positioned on the upstream side of the ball. These valves also feature a double o-ring stem seal for twice the leakage protection of valves with only a single stem seal. Reversible seats make it easy to get a damaged valve back in service quickly. FPM o-rings.
