Thermal Wire and Cable'sCST 450Flare Stack cable is engineered for applications where the cable is expected to perform in extremely demanding applications such as ignition lead wire for flare stack applications, blast furnace instrumentation, curing systems, glass fabrication, plastics manufacturing, fuel igniter applications, offshore oil rigs, and other applications where a cable is required to perform in temperatures from -60C through 450C.
This cable will perform where all other cables have failed. Thermal Wire and Cable'sCST 450Flare Stack Grade III is resistant to temperature excursions exceeding 2800F. Oxygen-free high conductivity pure copper with nickel-coating is standard. Another option for the conductor material is flexible-stranded Pure Nickel (nickel 200) which is the best selection of conductor for this type of application but has increased cost and decreased ampacity.
The insulating system that is applied to this high performance conductor is composed of high-dielectric strength, inorganic materials which are primarily inorganic crystalline silicate materials laminated to a glass scrim system with a modified heat resistant epoxy forming an insulating tape that is wrapped contra helically to form an insulating wall that is flexible and easy to terminate.
Braided 304 stainless steel jacket orgalvanized steelarmor is available overall when the cable will likely experience abnormal physical abuse. Thermal WireCST 450can be cut and terminated on the jobsite and requires no special tools and connectors. Thermal Wire and CableCST 450is not designed for high-flexing applications after exposure to temperatures exceeding 300C or continuous use voltage applications.
Outer fluoropolymer jackets are available, which add a chemical resistance demension and allow for easy conduit pulls and is availablein various colors. Please specify Jacket color. Standard color is tan.
