Transtector Systems, Inc. Power Over Ethernet PoE Midspan Injector Category 5 1 Port 802.3af Type B w/ Lightning Protection PI-1C5-AFB-LP

Description
Transtector's PI-1C5-AFB-LP single-port Category 5 (Cat 5) PoE Midspan/Injector (also known as PoE Passive Splitter or Tap) is a commercial grade Power-over-Ethernet device that supplies power for a 10/100 Base-T Power-over-Ethernet, PoE equipped network device. It is compatible with a Power Device (PD) that support the IEEE 802.3af standard PoE power feed using Mode B (Pins 4/5 and 7/8). Additionally, the unit supports both positive and negative DC as well as AC power up to 55 volts. Only a single Ethernet cable is run to each network appliance instead of separate power and data cables as Power-over-Ethernet eliminates the need for an AC outlet to be installed. The PI-1C5-AFB-LP features integral surge protection for the data lines and power feeds. This eliminates the need for an external surge protector. The unit provides protection for both common and differential mode surges. High-speed semiconductors clamp any voltage, positive or negative on the wires. The limits are +/- 58 volts on the four cable pairs. The design utilizes Thyristor diode technology which has superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Avalanche diode based designs. The PI-1C5-AFB-LP can also be used as a standalone lightning surge protector. The PI-1C5-AFB-LP also features shielded RJ45 jacks. This along with a metal housing to helps reduce the effects of EMI interference. A ground lug and terminal is provided directly on the injector housing providing superior grounding. The cast aluminum housing includes integral mounting feet for ease of installation. This unit does not come with a power supply. The user can choose the appropriately sized power supply based on the equipment needs up to 60 volts DC or AC. Please see Transtector's PIPS series of power supplies to purchase one separately or look to other parts in the PI- injector family that do come with a power supply included. Transtector also sells Ethernet surge protection devices and Ethernet cables capable of connecting PoE devices. Check out Transtector's website and buy online today.
