Highly configurable, the 587 Series features a variety of PICMG compliant PCI/ISA 20 slot passive backplanes and three peripheral bay options. The first option provides a 3.5” floppy drive bay with two front accessible 5.25/3.5” half-height peripheral bays located behind a lockable door. The second option provides two 3.5” floppy drive bays and four front accessible 5.25/3.5” half-height peripheral bays. The third option provides a 3.5” floppy drive bay, two front accessible 5.25/3.5” half-height bays, and six 3.5” half-height SCSI SCA Hot Swap bays. The SCSI SCA backplane has two 68 pin SCSI-3 connectors and six SCA-2 SCSI-3 connectors and provides SCSI ID select type (via mini-DIP switches). Split/segmented backplane use is built-in; front accessible reset switches, keyboard and mouse connectors, and a speaker are standard. Single and dual Celeron or Pentium III processor based single board computers are supported. The quad N+1 (600W + 200W), auto-sensing (90-264 VAC), ATX-type power supply provides 60A @ +5V, 48A @ +3.3V, 24A @ +12V, 1.5A @ -5V, and 3A @ -12V. This supply is also used in a redundant, N+1, load-sharing, Hot Swap mode. The four Hot Swappable modules provide 600W output and 200W spare. The power supply modules are cableless and slide into a power supply interface board via self-aligning blind-mate connectors. Scalable performance. Carlo Gavazzi’s 587 Series PCI/ISA enclosure is designed to meet the needs of embedded and applied computing OEMs and System Integrators addressing worldwide datacom/telecom, CTI, industrial automation, military/aerospace, and medical markets.
