The Model 450 Portable Welding Fume Extractor with Dust Plenum provides a simple and highly efficient respiratory engineering control for a variety of welding applications. The dust plenum design enables this system to be used for heavy loading applications with an additional easy to change filter. This system captures most fumes and particulate at the source with a flame-retardant, self-supportive flex arm that allows the operator to easily maneuver and change the placement. This unit’s powerful fan draws in fumes and particulate into the filtration chamber preventing them from entering the operator’s breathing zone. The Model 450 Portable Welding Fume Extractor with Dust Plenum has been tested by a third-party industrial hygienist to measure this unit’s efficiency according to the Hexavalent Chromium OSHA Standard 29 CFR1910.1026. Results indicated an exposure limit five times lower that OSHA’s Hexavalent Chromium regulation during four hours of MIG welding. Results may vary depending on application and appropriate use of equipment.
