Jet Engine LEAP-1C®
The LEAP-1C, the first member of the LEAPĀ® engine family, was selected by Comac (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) as the sole Western powerplant for its new C919 single-aisle jetliner. It offers operators exceptional technical, economic and environmental performance, with a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions versus current engines, a 50% cut in NOx emissions, and compliance with the most stringent noise standards (the ICAO's Chapter 14 regulations). CFM, in partnership with Nexcelle*, will deliver a complete integrated propulsion system (IPS) for the new Chinese jetliner, also including the nacelle and the thrust reverser. The LEAP-1C was the first LEAP engine to begin flight testing, on a flying testbed (FTB) at Victorville, California, in September 2014. *Nexcelle is a 50/50 joint venture between Middle River Aircraft Systems (GE) and Aircelle (Safran) TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Applications Comac C919ST, Comac C919ER Max. takeoff thrust (lbf) 31,000 Bypass ratio 11 Fan diameter (in) 77 Number of fan/low-pressure/hig h-pressure compressor stages 1+3+10 Number of low-pressure/high-pr essure turbine stages 2+7 Entry into service 2018
