The FOD814 series is a 4-pin DIP phototransistor optocoupler designed for AC line monitoring, unknown polarity DC sensing, and telephone line interfaces. It features an inverse-parallel gallium arsenide infrared LED pair driving a silicon phototransistor, with a minimum collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 70 V and current transfer ratio ranging from 20% to 300% depending on the grade. The device is rated for 5,000 VAC RMS isolation for one minute per UL1577 and complies with DIN EN/IEC60747-5-5. Maximum operating temperature is 105°C, with a peak lead solder temperature of 260°C for 10 seconds. Power dissipation is limited to 200 mW total, and creepage and clearance are both ≥7 mm. The part is housed in a through-hole DIP package.
