The ISL6292DCRZ is an integrated single-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery charger designed for use with various AC adapters or USB ports. It operates with an input voltage as low as 2.4V and features a programmable charge current of up to 2A, utilizing a constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) charging profile. The device can function as a linear charger or in conjunction with a current-limited adapter to reduce thermal dissipation. Key features include charge current thermal foldback for safe operation, preconditioning for over-discharged batteries, and an NTC thermistor interface for temperature monitoring. The charger is housed in a thermally enhanced 16-lead QFN package, which is compliant with JEDEC standards and supports Pb-free soldering. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -20¬8C to 70¬8C and is suitable for applications in handheld devices, portable instruments, and self-charging battery packs. The ISL6292DCRZ is not recommended for new designs, and there is no recommended replacement available.
