Our 2708 series features the Piggyback NEMA 5-15P Plug with an ROJ Shielded. These North American power cords are ideal for powering your custom equipment. This power cord will plug into the standard North American wall outlet or NEMA 5-15R receptacle on one end and will hard-wire into your equipment on the other end. The plug features a piggyback configuration. Shielded wire uses a conductive lining to disperse any external electromagnetic interference and reduce any internal high-frequency noise. This protects the flow of electricity from electromagnetic fields created by other devices, and also protects the external environment from any electromagnetic field created by the power cord itself. The piggyback design is a space-saving feature that allows you to power your device while still leaving the outlet or receptacle free to power other appliances. This is crucial in instances where your equipment must not power down, such as when using security systems. A Shielded ROJ (Removed Outer Jacket) occurs when 2 inches (51mm) of the outer jacket has been removed from a power cord that has insulated or double-insulated foil. The conductors of this cord are stripped back 1/4 inch (6mm), but there is one additional conductor, which is the drain wire that removes residual current generated in and around the power cord by electro-magnetic interference. The 2708.072 carries the UL and C-UL approvals and is rated at 10A - 125V.
