XP03 is an explosion-proof RTD assembly with thermowell for use in hazardous locations, certified by CSA for Class I Division I and II, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II Division I, Groups E, F, G; and Class III, with IP66 protection. It features a 316 stainless steel sheath and is available with aluminum or 316L stainless steel explosion-proof connection heads. The assembly includes a 100 Ω platinum RTD element with tolerance grades B or A, covering temperature ranges from -30 to 600 °C depending on configuration. Thermowells are offered in standard, heavy-duty, or flanged constructions. Mounting fittings include 1/2" NPT options, and the device supports 2-, 3-, or 4-wire connections.
Explosion-proof (XP) thermocouples and RTDs are designed for use in hazardous locations in refineries, storage facilities and gas processing plants. These sensors are built to extinguish flames inside the device, eliminating the potential for ignition of flammable mixtures in the surrounding atmosphere.
Depending on the construction desired, these sensors are FM and CSA approved for installation in Class I, Division I or II environments.
