The Barnes SSSP Series of Bore Finishing equipment is especially precise and rugged, engineered to process medium and large sized parts. The system is designed to process cavities requiring less than 2 microns geometry in a 24/7 production environment. The single spindle design, in conjunction with the available rotary tool changer, allows Bore Finishing of components with one or more diametric holes, utilizing several processing steps per cavity. Due to special features available with this system, it is also capable of bore finishing individual or ganged parts which contain cavities not always in optimum or repeated alignment to each other. The robust design of the SSSP Series base, pallet drive and spindle provides superior vibration dampening to facilitate high material removal, yet maintaining precise tolerances and critical surface finish tolerances for either “open bore” or “blind bore” cavities. To facilitate higher levels of production, there are two (2) load/unload stations, which eliminate operator handling down-time.
