Faster, Cleaner, Easier, More Cost Effective
Lapmaster International presents a full line of single side fine grinding systems with fine grinding wheel sizes ranging from 500 mm diameter to 1200 mm diameter. Fine grinding produces flat parts with tolerances equal to those attainable by conventional lapping techniques. Material removal rates are as much as twenty times faster than removal rates achieved by conventional lapping. Super abrasive wheels, either CBN or diamond, are used in place of standard lapping plates and abrasive slurries. Thus, fine grinding produces parts requiring no special cleaning operations and with no additional cost for lapping waste disposal.
The three basic models of Lapmaster fine grinding systems incorporate high power variable speed drives for the fine grinding wheel. Models 850 & 1200 include variable speed drives for the part retainer rings. Precision bearing support for the main spindle and controlled down pressure systems are standard features. An optional coolant filtration/delivery system is equipped to handle both water based and oil soluble coolants.
The cast iron machine base is a proven stable platform. Oversize cylinder rod bearings provide additional support for side loading encountered during the grinding process. Together these two featured produce a grinding system capable of handling most of the difficult process situations.
The multi-screen touch panel operator controls are fully programmable in both auto and manual modes. The auto mode allows up to a three-step process cycle where time and applied force are changeable per step and the setup screens program speed, direction coolant and station activation. The operator has full control over every element when the mode selector is switched to manual. The control elements are time, force, rpm, rotational direction, coolant and station activation.
The table height is electrically adjustable through the touch screen operator panel. This is a convenient feature to compensate for wheel wear or to facilitate parts loading and unloading.
Materials ideally suited for fine grinding are : Tungsten Carbide, High Alumina Ceramics, Silicon Carbide, Powder Metals, Stainless Steels, Plastics, Glass Materials, Aluminum Alloys, Electronic Materials and many more.
Let Lapmaster’s advanced fine grinding laborator y demonstrate our fine grinding process on your parts. We also have double side fine grinding capabilities to serve you.
