The SSS-4MM-14ZI SNAP-TOP Standoff from PennEngineering® is designed for permanent installation into metal panels or PC boards. Made from carbon steel, it features a zinc plating finish that complies with ASTM B633 standards. This standoff utilizes a spring action mechanism to securely hold PC boards and subassemblies while allowing for quick removal, eliminating the need for screws and other threaded hardware. The SSS type is specifically suited for self-clinching applications in ductile materials. It is permanently installed by squeezing it into a properly sized hole using standard press equipment. Performance data indicates a pushout force of 16 kN and a maximum snap-on force of 1780 N, making it suitable for applications requiring robust fastening solutions. Custom sizes are available upon request.
PEM SNAP-TOP® Standoffs (Types SSA, SSS, SSC) are designed for permanent installation into metal panels or PC boards.
These all-metal standoffs use a spring action to hold PC boards and subassemblies securely, while allowing for quick removal. Screws and other threaded hardware are eliminated. This means less parts to handle during assembly and less risk of damaging delicate circuitry because of loose parts falling into your equipment.
These standoffs are permanently installed in the panel by squeezing them into a properly sized hole using any standard press.
