The SOS-8632-14 is a thru-hole threaded standoff from PennEngineering® designed for permanent installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.050 inches. It utilizes a self-clinching design, allowing it to be pressed into properly sized round holes, ensuring a flush mount with the surface of the sheet. This standoff is suitable for use in steel or aluminum sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 or HB 125 or less. The SOS series features a thicker wall, providing increased bearing surface to reduce the risk of cracking or cutting into the board. Optional nickel plating is available for enhanced corrosion resistance. This product is ideal for applications requiring reliable mounting, spacing, or stacking of panels and components.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
PEM® brand thru-hole threaded standoffs are installed with their heads flush with one surface of the mounting sheet.
