SMTSO™ microPEM® Surface Mount Fasteners attach to printed circuit boards during reflow soldering for nut and standoff applications. They feature a hex-shaped barrel for optimal solder area, are provided on tape and reel, and mount like standard surface mount components. The fastener supports M1 thread size with a minimum sheet thickness of 0.5 mm. Tape width is 24 mm, reels are 330 mm and conform to EIA-481. A polyimide patch is supplied for vacuum pickup, though it may be omitted for cost reduction. All variants are designed for use with lead-free solder pastes and meet RoHS requirements.

Boards in the same manner and at the same time asother surface mount components prior to the automated refl ow solderprocess. The fasteners simply become another board component.
