The Alexa XT introduced a range of improvements to the Alexa family including onboard ARRIRAW recording, improved ProRes/DNxHD recording and an open gate sensor for better VFX performance. The XT has proved popular with cinematographers, especially paired with Panavision anamorphic and Panavision spherical lenses.
