onsemi Single Bipolar Transistors BUH51

The BUH51 is an NPN silicon planar power transistor designed for 50 W halogen electronic transformers, capable of withstanding high inrush currents. Packaged in a TO-225 (Case 77), it has a 500 Vdc collector-emitter voltage, 3.0 Adc continuous collector current, and 50 W power dissipation at 25°C case temperature. It features a 23 MHz current gain bandwidth, 2.5°C/W junction-to-case thermal resistance, and operates from -65°C to 150°C. The epoxy complies with UL 94 V-0. Maximum lead temperature for soldering is 260°C for 1/8 inch from case for 5 seconds. DC current gain ranges from 4.0 to 25 depending on collector current and temperature. Peak base and collector currents are 4.0 Adc and 8.0 Adc respectively.
