The SS050-F3 Suprema® Stainless Steel Kinematic Optical Mount offers superior performance in a compact footprint. It comes with a front loading optic face plates for 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) diameter optics. It is fabricated with hardened stainless steel shaped through a metal injection molding process, which results in a cost effective method of achieving performance approaching that of wrought stainless steel. Three 100 TPI precision adjustment screws with Capstan style locks are included for a ±5° tip and tilt range as well as translation. Ideal for OEM applications, the SN050 and mounts incorporate two 2-56 counterbored thru-holes for mounting purposes. In addition, we have incorporated thru-holes sized for standard 1/16th-in dowel pins to enable repeatable system integration and to prevent clocking effects. In-Process Heat Treatment Every Suprema mount is heat treated as part of the fabrication process. Heat treating relieves the build up of fabrication stresses which improves the overall stability of the mount. The Stainless Steel Advantage All Suprema mirror mounts are made from stainless steel making them the most stable and easiest to align. Stainless steel is 3X stiffer than aluminum so it flexes significantly less allowing easier alignment. Stainless steel's coefficient of thermal expansion is lower than aluminum making it more stable during temperature fluctuations. Locking Allen-Key Adjusters Suprema industrial mirror mounts feature Allen-key adjustments to save space and prevent unintended adjustment.For long-term stability, screw lock is included in select models. The jam nut lock, used for SS100 mount, and hex broach lock, used for SS050 mount, exert an axial force on the adjustment screw which locks the mirror mount's alignment in place. Right: Hex broach lock Alignment Pin Holes The SS050 models feature alignment pin holes on the bottom (base) of the mount to enable keying of the position and orientation by means of dowel pins when directly mounting. (Note: Dowel pins not included with mount.) This is especially helpful in OEM applications.
