The SS050-F3 Suprema® Stainless Steel Kinematic Optical Mount offers superior performance in a compact footprint. It comes with a front loading optic face plates for 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) diameter optics. It is fabricated with hardened stainless steel shaped through a metal injection molding process, which results in a cost effective method of achieving performance approaching that of wrought stainless steel. Three 100 TPI precision adjustment screws with Capstan style locks are included for a ±5° tip and tilt range as well as translation. Ideal for OEM applications, the SN050 and mounts incorporate two 2-56 counterbored thru-holes for mounting purposes. In addition, we have incorporated thru-holes sized for standard 1/16th-in dowel pins to enable repeatable system integration and to prevent clocking effects. Superior Thermal Stability Suprema Industrial Mounts were tested against the best competitive mounts and demonstrated superior drift stability as shown in the graph. In-Process Heat Treatment Every Suprema mount is heat treated as part of the fabrication process. Heat treating relieves the build up of fabrication stresses which improves the overall stability of the mount. The Stainless Steel Advantage All Suprema mirror mounts are made from stainless steel making them the most stable and easiest to align. Stainless steel is 3X stiffer than aluminum so it flexes significantly less allowing easier alignment. Stainless steel's coefficient of thermal expansion is lower than aluminum making it more stable during temperature fluctuations. Stainless steel makes Suprema the flag ship of Newport’s mirror mount offering.
