MOXTEK, Inc. Polymer X-ray Window ProLINE™ 20 Series

Description
ProLINE Series X-ray windows are available in typical sizes used in wavelength dispersive spectrometers such as those from major wavelength dispersive equipment manufacturers. ProLINE Series x-ray windows provide an excellent transmission in the low energy range of F-Kα and down to B-Kα. ProLINE Series windows are the thinnest WDXRF windows manufactured by Moxtek® and these windows outperform stretched polypropylene and other commonly used windows. ProLINE Series 10 Ultra-thin windows do not have a metal support grid. These windows have withstood hundreds of cycles at a differential pressure of 1.2 atmospheres without degradation in window performance. ProLINE Series 20 windows are supported by a strong metal support grid and have withstood hundreds of cycles at a differential pressure of 1.2 atmospheres without degradation in window performance. ProLINE Series X-ray windows typically have a leak rate of less than 1 x 10-3 mbar L/sec He. Most ProLINE Series 10 windows are coated with 200 angstroms of aluminum for charge dissipation. Window active area geometry can be circular or rectangular. Maximum rectangular active area dimensions are 2.8” x 2.8” (70 x 70 mm). Maximum active area diameter is 4.0” (10.16 mm). The following table shows the standard film thicknesses available at Moxtek. Other thicknesses can be custom manufactured.

Datasheet Summary
Powered by GS/AI

The ProLINE,Ñ¢ 20 Series X-ray window from MOXTEK, Inc. features a metal support grid that enhances its mechanical strength and improves performance under differential pressure conditions. This window is designed for applications requiring high transmission of low energy X-rays, making it suitable for use in flow proportional counters and other detection systems. The ProLINE 20 windows have been tested to withstand hundreds of cycles at a differential pressure of 1.2 atm without performance degradation. They are constructed from an ultra-thin polymer film with a thin aluminum coating for charge dissipation and light rejection. The maximum active area dimensions for the ProLINE 20 are 2.8,Äù x 2.8,Äù (70mm x 70mm) for rectangular shapes and a diameter of 4.0,Äù (101.6mm) for circular shapes. The windows typically exhibit a leak rate of less than 1 x 10^{-3} mbar L/s of helium. Custom thicknesses can be requested to meet specific application requirements.
