The MP5022A is a hot-swap protection device designed to safeguard circuitry from input transients and shorts. It operates within an input voltage range of 8V to 16V and can handle output currents up to 12A, featuring an integrated power FET with a low ON resistance of 3m,Ѷ. The device includes adjustable current limiting, output current measurement with ¬±3% accuracy, and fast response time for short protection. Additional features include thermal shutdown, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, and a discharge function for external output capacitors when disabled. The MP5022A is housed in a compact QFN-22 package measuring 3mm x 5mm and is suitable for applications such as hot swap, PC cards, disk drives, servers, and laptops. It operates effectively across a temperature range of -40¬8C to 125¬8C.
