The MP2617BGL-Z is a monolithic switch mode battery charger designed for single-cell Li-ion batteries, suitable for various portable devices such as smartphones, tablets, and GPS units. It operates with an input voltage range of 4V to 10V and features smart power path management, allowing simultaneous charging and system operation even when the battery is deeply discharged. The device integrates a synchronous BUCK regulator and supports both USB and high-power DC adapter inputs, with programmable input current limits of up to 3A. Key features include a 1.6MHz switching frequency, built-in thermal limiting regulation, battery temperature monitoring, and a programmable charging timer.
