SILTEX® 36-UH is a woven amorphous silica fabric designed for high-temperature protection against abrasion, chemicals, and heat, suitable for thermal insulation and resistance to welding splatter and metal grinding. It has a nominal weight of 36 oz/sy (1200 g/m²), thickness of 0.045 inches (1.15 mm), and operates continuously up to 1800°F (982°C) with a melting point of 2462°F (1350°C). The fabric is constructed as a 12-harness satin weave with an acrylic coating, has a width of 36 inches (0.9144 m), and is supplied in 50-yard (45.72 m) rolls. Tensile strength is 685 lbs/in (warp) by 571 lbs/in (fill).
Made with continuous filament, 96% amorphous silica fibers, SILTEX® Woven Silica Fabrics are widely used for applications that require high heat resistance, as well as abrasion and/or chemical resistance.
