"Fractional" tubing starts at 1/32" O.D. and continues in increments of 1/32" (i.e. 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" etc.) or (1/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" etc.). Available in seamless or welded and drawn construction, fractional tubing is often used in commercial applications that require corrosion resistance and good strength. Also available in other stainless and nickel alloy grades (i.e. 321, 600 etc.). Normally available in commercial specifications (i.e. ASTM-A-269); Occasionally available in other specs. (i.e. Mil-T-8504, AMS-5570). Primarily stocked in annealed temper.
Used in many different industries ranging from medical to instrumentation, fractional tubing covers small (1/32") to large (up through 3") applications. Welded and drawn can often be substituted for seamless because it usually has the same, if not better, appearance, tolerances and concentricity.
